blue filter pad effective!

Lasts a long time. I put mine on top of a coarser thick black filter in my canister. More effective than a more basic floss.

Marineland filter media

Absolutely the best disposable cut to fit filter pad i have used in my hob AquaClear filters. I was buying this at a pet store chain and they've switched to carrying their store name brand only. What a difference this stuff makes! The other brand, within 2 -3 days time of changing, i found was creating a backup, causing water flow to trickle out by intake tube. I do not have that problem with Marineland brand even at the 7 day mark. You aren't saving any money (or headaches/worry) if you have to change your filter media every 3 days. Save yourself the stress and use Marineland , im going to continue to have it auto shipped.

I love to use Marinekand's Magnum Bonded Filter media on the trickle filter in my 265g fancy ryukin tank. The media provides excellent physical filtration, and at Chewy.com it is priced at neatly 50% off the price I paid for it at Persmart.

Does The Job

This isn't my favorite filter media, and it's not the best, but it's great for the price you pay. It's easy to cut and it does the job.

flimsy, easily clogged, low flow filter

Purchased because of the claim it "won't slow filter down" and "prevents clogging" I installed last night and went to bed. Woke up to find that the filter was completely clogged and not letting any water through the system. The packaging also shows the filter being used vertically, it is far too flimsy of a material to hold its own weight in that position. For the size of the filter, I assumed it would work in a setup larger than 100 gallons and could be cut to smaller sizes if needed. DO NOT rely on this filter unless you need bulk material to cut a bunch of 4x6.5 filters for an aquarium.
